The impressively muscular chest of Tom Jane is the focal point of The Punisher, a movie based on a Marvel Comics superhero. Frank Castle (Jane, Deep Blue Sea) retires from the FBI, which means--as any moviegoer expects--that his family is toast. Howard Saint (John Travolta, Face/Off), a shady Florida businessman whose son was killed in Castle's last mission, orders a hit not only on Castle's wife and child, but also on his parents and a whole bunch of aunts, uncles, cousins, and so forth. The killers shoot Castle himself in the chest, but he inexplicably survives and--as any moviegoer expects--sets out to even the score. Implausibly, given his sometimes curious and roundabout methods, he succeeds. Also featuring Will Patton (Armageddon) as an oily thug, Laura Harring (Mulholland Drive) as Saint's fleshpot wife, and Rebecca Romijn-Stamos (X-Men) as a waitress with bad taste in men. --Bret Fetzer

- The best adaptation of a Marvel comic...yetFirst, I'll admit that I have never read a Punisher comic; thus, I had no expectations going in when I saw the movie upon its release. That is probably why I saw it with an open mind, not have any comic reference to build on.
The film stands on its own as a testament to the pitfalls of revenge, on both the "good" guy and the "bad" guy's part. Thomas Jane plays the federal agent who runs afoul of a villainous John Travolta and both actors jump headfirst into their respective roles. ... Read More

- It's not the quality of the movie, but the blu-rayI am a fan of "The Punisher" and this is my favorite in the three versions that have been done. But I am not going to write a review on the movie, but on this Blu-Ray. First and foremost; there are no special features on here....? WTF? It is blu-ray and your not going to add some special features? Every time you load the disc it displays this set-up of how to navigate the settings. Skipping through that and on to the next. - The punisher RulesThis is a remake of The Punisher Made back in 1989. Well I will have to say that i'm not the one for remakes. but the director and producers pulled this one off. this remake is just as good as the first movie. And Thomas Jane was Perfect For the role as The Punisher and John Travolta was Perfect For Howard Saint. this movie is awesome. If you have not seen this movie then you should.
